This position is grant funded and continued employment is contingent upon availability of funds. This position is scheduled to end on July 14,2014. Some Saturday and evening hours are part of the required duties in promoting academic readiness and college readiness.
Coordinates comprehensive college readiness programs for outreach/recruiting activities; for the implementation of GEAR UP services and events that target GEAR UP cohort.
Prepares reports as required by management, federal, state, and university programs. case management of UTEP GEAR UP Cohort files for purpose of compiling final report to US Department of Education Manage and maintain an accurate accounting system to track program services to GEAR UP Participants. Maintains, compiles and tracks accurate documentation of program services and submits monthly summary report of student and GEAR UP activities and services to students, staff and District. Assist Program Director in the planning, coordination and implementation of Parental Awareness Component. Provide strategies and take an active role in the planning, coordination and implementation of monthly activity for the Parental Awareness Component. Coordinate tutoring schedules, tutor assignments and assist in the supervision of GEAR UP tutors. To implement the GEAR UP Tutoring Program at the partner school. Coordinate tutoring schedules, tutor assignments and assist in the supervision of GEAR UP tutors. To implement the GEAR UP Tutoring Program at the partner school. Serves as Liaison for campus coordination. Manage the implementation of staff development for high school teachers in related GEAR UP programs. Attend and participate in schools Campus Improvement Team Meetings. Attend Schools Department, counselor and faculty meetings to promote the GEAR UP mission. Coordinates, implements and monitors all GEAR UP functions at assigned campus to ensure compliance with grant guidelines. Responsible for seeking out opportunities and effectiveness in GEAR UP implementation. Services include; tutoring component, parental engagement, academic readiness, college readiness, field trips, data collection and reporting on all services, tracking student cohort, and other duties as assigned.
Other related functions as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from four year college or university within area of assigned responsibility; and three years of related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
