Provides customer service and moderately complex student support services in the establishment and accurate maintenance of student records.

Essential Functions

Provides high quality customer service to faculty, staff, and student's in-person, telephone, and e-mail. Establishes and accurately maintains student records. Oversees the registration and monitoring processes of students participating in either online education or study abroad programs. Oversees weekly submission/edit of student enrollment/graduation status reports to the National Student Clearinghouse. Mediates for the Associate Registrar on student concerns that cannot be resolved by the Student Support Specialist I. Serves as a liaison with other departments in resolving student record issues. Communicates rules, regulations, procedures and policies to faculty, staff, students and parents regarding student records. Assists Associate Registrar with complex and detailed projects. Assist with the maintenance of the office's Procedural Manual. Provides general office procedural and data entry training to new office employees. Provides training to campus users on the navigation of the Banner student information system. Assists with FERPA training sessions. Acts as a backup for other Student Support Specialists. Assists in the preparation of each semester's registration and graduation activities. Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and security of student records. Complies with all State and University policies. Other duties may be assigned.

Required qualifications

One year of college course work or technical school and a minimum of two years of experience, related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
