This is an 11 month position. Work hours are Monday through Thursday and Sunday from 3:30PM to 12:30AM; Friday and Saturday off. Work days, hours and area may vary based upon the needs of Unit and the Division of Housing and Food Service. Candidate selected must provide verification of education and/or experience.
To assist with the food preparation in the Jesta' Pizza Dining Service.
Greet and interact with customers. Prepare and accurately identify food items, portion sizes and combination packages. Operate Cash Register and complete paperwork related to cashier operation including transfer of funds reports, closing reports, cash reconciliation sheet and deposit envelopes. Receive, respond and follow through to written and oral instructions from supervisors, co-workers and customers. Set up, stock, clean and replenish the production area before and during work hours. Complete food temperature logs and waste forms as required. Break down and clean work area including equipment. Store left over food items from the serving area. Assist in dusting, sweeping and mopping work area; Clean pots, pans, dishes and utensils as need.

Experience following basic work instructions. Experience preparing and assisting in the preparation of food. Experience preparing food in a commercial establishment. Experience providing service in a food service facility. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
High school graduation or GED. Six month or more experience in a fast paced Food court or restaurant operation. Experience working and directing a fast paced pizza operation, taking inventory , operating cash register and coaching temporary staff in their duties. Able to multi-task and work with little supervision. Demonstrates ability to receive, respond and follow through with written and oral University and Housing and Food Service policies, procedures and work related instructions from supervisors and co - workers. Demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills. Exhibits professional demeanor and is able to deal with a diverse staff and customer base. Must have and maintain a current Serv Safe Certificate or a current Travis County Food Handlers Card.
