The purpose of this position is to support the basic event, administrative, and technology functions of the Liberal Arts Student Division.
EVENTS - Plan the Student Division's piece for Explore UT. Collaborate on the planning of Family Weekend, Liberal Arts fall and spring commencement ceremonies, and Admissions VIP. Assist with the execution of Undergraduate Research Week events, the Dean?s Distinguished Graduates luncheon, and Gone to Texas. OFFICE SUPPORT - Order print materials, manage furniture and cubicle purchases/designs, create storage solutions, and order all office supplies for the Student Division. Fill orders for memberships, books, classes, and other professional development requests as appropriate. Order catering for meetings as needed. Serve as backup for office support for other offices. TECHNOLOGY - Coordinate technology purchases for the Student Division. Manage inventory issues. Update and maintain assigned sections of the Student Division website. Coordinate the creation, design, and implementation of serial multimedia presentations. Create quarterly electronic newsletters. Develop website content for some programs. FINANCIAL - Make all purchases for the Student Division; serve as backup for our other offices. Validate invoices for processing. BUILDING - Manage the Student Division kitchen stocking and cleaning schedule, tasks, and supplies; keep designated areas of the office tidy and organized, maintaining systems already in place.
Other related functions as assigned. Evening and weekend work may be required for events.
High school graduation or GED. Three years of experience with clerical functions. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Event planning experience. Web, e-newsletter, social media experience. Customer service experience. Experience working in a fast-paced office environment. UT experience. Attention to detail essential. Ability to work as part of a team with a collaborative attitude and independently with good judgment on time management.
