General Notes

Temporary position: incumbent selected will be assigned for one year, starting from the effective hire date of this position. The fellowship pays a competitive salary and opportunity to teach, if interested. It also includes a discretionary budget of 10K for research support including conference travel and inviting seminar speakers of the fellow's choice over the course of the academic year.

Additional Information


The purpose of this position is to provide short-term research leadership in statistics, with the Division of Statistics and Scientific Computation.

Essential Functions

Continue ongoing research in statistics and/or machine learning. Forge new research collaborations with UT faculty. Contribute to overall intellectual life of the Division. Invite seminar speakers and assist with development of seminar series.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Minimum qualifications are an earned Ph.D. in Statistics or a related area, and evidence of excellence in research. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

Earned Ph.D. in Statistics/Machine Learning/Other and research experience in Bayesian methods, bioinformatics, econometrics, epidemiology, marketing models, neuroscience, statistical machine learning, or stochastic optimization.
