To provide police record management services to the University of Texas at Austin.
Reviews all offense and incident reports and prepares paper and electronic copies of offense and incident reports for dissemination to the courts, state agencies and other campus departments. Front lobby support, including check in and welcoming guests. Provides departmental support on records research and statistical reports by using report writing software. Responds to internal and external requests for police records in accordance with police department policy, university policy and state law. Crime Victims Assistance Coordinator for the police department. Manages the program, takes training, contacts victims and prepares paperwork submissions to the Office of the Attorney General. Acts as supervisor in absence of records supervisor and will train in order to be able to backup the records and reports functions and the lost and found administrator. Supports official department events in all capacities, acts as backup to other admin positions, coordinates with front lobby administrative for lunch coverage. Supports special projects and programs including holiday program.
Other related functions as assigned.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
High school graduation or GED. One year of clerical experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Associates or Bachelors degree. More than one year of clerical experience. Police department/ records experience. Experience with Uniform Crime Reporting or Federal Clery Act reporting. Working knowledge of databases and report writing software.
