Provides support of institutional policy making, planning, evaluation and decision making through the design and execution of institutional research projects, including data gathering, data analysis and interpretation, data presentation, and reporting.
Assists in the compilation of a repository of management information from national, state, component and internal databases. Works with providers and IT professionals to insure the integrity of the data in the repository. Assists with the retrieval and compilation of data for quantitative studies of institutional and system effectiveness and with routine and ad hoc information requests. Prepares spreadsheets and graphs to facilitate interpretation of data and prepares narratives and reports on research results. Automate and streamline processes and reporting.

Bachelor's degree. Three years of previous work experience required in one of the following fields of study: computer science, economics, mathematics, statistics, or data processing. A minimum of 1 year experience using SAS or equivalent statistical package to conduct statistical analyses is required.
Master's degree. Advanced knowledge of databases and data files (create, merge, modify, and edit); Basic to intermediate knowledge of statistical techniques; Basic to Intermediate knowledge of topics in higher education: institutional research and planning, student and faculty data, research, productivity and efficiency; Intermediate knowledge of mathematical concepts; Advanced skill programming in SAS, SPSS, Access, etc; Advanced skill using Excel to work with data and generate sophisticated descriptive analytics; Intermediate skill using data warehouses, pivot tables, dashboards, or similar tools used to automate reporting; Basic to Intermediate skill using production software (InDesign, advanced features of Word) to help draft and/or edit reports; Intermediate to Advanced ability to evaluate and analyze data and convert analytical findings into written reports, including bullets, supporting graphics; Advanced ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy, to work independently, with general supervision, and function as part of a collaborative team; Advanced ability to shift priorities quickly, without losing track of projects.
