To provide administrative support and serve as the receptionist for the Department of Classics.
Serve as the first point of contact for the Classics Department. Answer phones and greet and direct students and visitors. Answer departmental inquiries. Process entertainment expense vouchers. Process travel authorizations and travel reimbursements for faculty. Assist administrative team with event and travel related tasks. Make purchases as needed. Assist with special projects. Coordinate duplication of course materials, research materials, and other business related items for faculty and staff. Perform data entry. Maintain department directory. Distribute incoming mail and direct outgoing mail. Process request for courier service. Oversee work order requests. Maintain appearance of front office and departmental areas. Maintain the front office equipment. Contact Service providers for repair.
Other related functions as assigned.
High school graduation or GED. Three years of experience with clerical functions. Professional demeanor. Ability to work regular hours, ability to be on time routinely. Demonstrated, recent, exemplary work record. Demonstrated excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with faculty, staff, and students exercising poise, tact, and diplomacy. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to take initiative. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Must be flexible and willing to take on new responsibilities. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
More than the required number of years of administrative experience. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to take initiative and good problem solving skills.
