Additional Information

Purpose

Provide current undergraduate students in the College of Business and prospective students new to UT-Arlington with programs and information to supplement and enhance the academic experience, student retention, and graduation.

Essential Functions

Meet individually with students in the College of Business to provide guidance on academic issues such as meeting degree requirements, proper course selection, and assisting students in formulating successful academic strategies. Maintain a clear understanding of all applicable University and College of Business policies and procedures in order to implement and solve student problems or issues. Involved in the development, planning, and implementation of existing student programs and activities under limited supervision. Recommend and organize new programs designed to enhance student development and success. Monitor the academic progress of students and provide them with assistance in setting and achieving educational and career goals. Provide students with information about additional programs and support services such as counseling and tutoring within the College and University. Participate in meetings, professional conferences, and individual professional development. Perform related advising duties as required, including but not limited to, Commencement, Preview Days, Orientations, and recruiting efforts.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business. 2 years of experience in an advisory, administrative, or educational capacity with college students or adolescents in community youth groups. Applicants must include in their online resume with the following information, 1. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business from an AACSB institution. Experience working directly with college students. Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Publisher. Excellent communication skills.
