Perform general grounds maintenance and apartment cleaning at the University Apartments.
Maintain grounds including trimming shrubs and trees; and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and chain saws. Pick-up trash. Strip, wax, sweep, and mop floors. Perform other cleaning in University Apartments. Perform and/or assist Mechanic Technician in the repairs of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, general labor and other trades as needed or qualified. Stock supplies in shop. Sweep shop. Clean machine rooms and/or performs routine custodial duties. Deliver or move furniture,equipment and materials. Set up bleachers, tables and chairs for events. Drive a UT Vehicle. Work with herbicides and insecticides. Transport crews to and from work sites and picks up supplies needed by crews and transports them to job site. Provides preventive maintenance. Communication: Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Ability to communicate with supervisor, staff and student residents and their families. Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

High school graduation or GED. One year of experience as a laborer. Experience following basic work instructions. Experience in unskilled manual work. One year experience in grounds care and maintenance. Experience using lawn care equipment. Candidate selected must provide verification of education and/or experience. More than a year of experience in building custodial and commercial grounds keeping work. Experience in the repair and maintenance of grounds keeping equipment. Experience working with herbicides and insecticides. Knowledge of safe work place practices. Good communication skills. Demonstrated stable work experience.
