The UT College of Liberal Arts is undertaking many new projects, including a major Online Learning Program with the intent to build a business unit using technology (such as online courses, etextbooks, and other computer-based learning products) to enhance learning and teaching. An experienced, highly-skilled Senior Project Manager is needed to oversee these and other college initiatives.
Oversee complex projects. Assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, develop project schedules and be responsible for acquiring needed resources. Manage diverse online educational projects, including: software development, audio/video production, and other content acquisition and production.
Work with Product Manager and Executive Sponsor to establish project goals, balance project requirements, budget, determine staffing levels, and meet deadlines. Perform Agile and Waterfall software project management activities, including: planning, execution, tracking, reporting, and coordination of deployments . Perform project management activities for studio and classroom based on audio/video production and other instructional content creation, including: planning, scheduling, execution, tracking and reporting. Develop metrics and routinely report project and team status to various stakeholders, including product, IT, and program management. Participate in requirement and design reviews, manage and ensure compliance with change control procedures, and lead the establishment of internal review processes and technical standards. Lead the development and maintenance of team standards, tools, and best practices. Facilitate team self-organization and self-management, rather than traditional command-control/directed styles. Encourage an environment where the team drives progress and feels ownership for its success, while also facilitating discussion and resolving conflict. Develop training programs, documents, and materials. Lead cultivation of robust and sustainable working relationships between technology, media, content, and academic teams to foster an environment of cross-functional collaboration and teamwork. Manage outsourced work, consultants, vendors, and other relationships.

Extensive knowledge of project management practices and experience managing complex projects through all phases of the project life cycle. Experience managing internet based software or digital media projects, hands-on experience in requirements analysis and technical documentation, experience using project management software to manage complete IT implementations and experience developing and managing project budgets. Demonstrated strong organizational skills leading to efficient project management and decision making. Demonstrated team player with no issue working in a collaborative environment. Demonstrated expertise in presenting, and delivering information in a concise, understandable manner. Demonstrated expertise in using verbal and written communication to mobilize cross-functional teams. Demonstrated experience in seeking opportunities to improve processes and optimize work functions.
Bachelor's degree and the following: six years of experience managing internet based software or digital media projects, 3 years of hands-on experience in requirements analysis and technical documentation, 3 years of experience using project management software to manage complete IT implementations, and 3 years of experience developing and managing project budgets.Experience as a software project manager in an Agile environment. Experience managing cloud-based software development and deployment. Experience working with professional product managers. Experience managing projects with diverse cross-functional teams. Project Management and/or a Scrum certification. Experience managing development of online courses. Experience as a software developer. Experience in digital audio or video production. Experience working in an audio or video studio. Post-graduate coursework.
