Additional Information

Purpose

To provide all aspects of responsible administrative support for attorneys and other staff within the Office of General Counsel.

Essential Functions

Provides administrative support to Section Manager and attorneys as assigned, including maintaining, scheduling and coordinating meetings, conferences, and seminars, developing section leave reports, time reports and other personnel reports. Makes travel arrangements and processes travel reimbursements. Composes drafts of and edits legal documents, correspondence and presentations with strict attention to detail and professionalism. Answers telephones and appropriately routes calls, opens incoming mail and assignments and appropriately routes to section attorneys. Creates legal asssignments for Section Manager and attorneys as assigned, maintains related databases and files (currently WorkSite), assuring that documents, drafts and emails are promptly and accurately filed. Tracks assignments, monitors project deadlines, closes assignments upon completion and assures that documentation is complete. Provides all aspects of responsible administrative suppport for attorneys and other staff within the Office of General Counsel, including responding to inquiries on administrative policies and procedures, and records management systems.

Required qualifications

High school diploma or GED with additional specialized/technical training. Three years of administrative experience. One year of college (30 semester hours) may be substituted for one year of the required experience on a year-for-year basis, allowing up to a maximum of 2 years substituted experience. Knowledge of standard office practices. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use standard office equipment such as copy machines, multi-line telephones, fax machines. Ability to use standard personal computer. Ability to perform basic tasks using the Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

College degree; prior experience in legal office.
