Provide administrative and managerial skills in the coordination and planning of all phases of parking and transportation services for over 12,000 parking spaces including the College Park District parking garages; transportation of approx 174,000 passengers p/yr on the campus shuttle, Mav Ride Security Escort, and off campus Maverick Ride program. The incumbent will manage parking and transportation for a large urban campus with a population in excess of 38,000 and several thousand visitors annually. Accountable for 13 full-time support staff members and up to 10 part-time staff members. Coordinate and plan all phases of parking and transportation services.
Manage 13 full-time support staff members and up to 10 part-time staff members. Directs and monitors daily activities of University parking and transportation operations. Meets with various University administrators to identify issues impacting parking and transportation services and facilitates problem solving resolutions; develops strategies to modify parking and transportation programs to meet changing institutional requirements; collects and analyzes relevant data to identify trends and takes appropriate action. Fosters and maintains problem-solving partnerships within the department and with external groups and organizations; develops proposals, plans, and projects which enhance parking and transportation systems and options; develops, clarifies, and interprets parking and transportation policies and procedures. Observes safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed and work supervised; Responsible for effective and efficient management of parking and transportation systems. Trains, develops, and reviews all personnel assigned to parking and transportation services. Serves on the University Parking Committee and is responsible for the development of the annual operating budget for parking and transportation, and the management of funds accordingly. Member of the Police Department Leadership Team and regularly interacts with senior University administrators in performing duties. Provides critical support and decision-making in response to emergency and crisis situations involving the parking and transportation infrastructure.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Bachelor degree in a field appropriate to the area of specialization, 5 yrs. of progressively experience within the parking field. Must have as a CAPP (Certified Administrator of Public Parking) or CPP (Certified Parking Professional) or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training. Detailed knowledge of parking, transportation systems, management principles, protocols/statutes applicable to parking and transportation. Ability to develop proactive collaborative relationships with stakeholders, analyze problems, develop workable solutions, prepare and conduct meetings and presentations, research issues and write professional reports, establish and maintain effective working relationships with all constituencies, assist with the implementation and management of the parking and transportation infrastructure per Campus master Plan, maintain leading-edge information and thinking with respect to parking and transportation management practices, procedures and operations, and work closely w/City of Arlington.
