Additional Information

Purpose

Assist faculty and staff with clerical tasks that support teaching and research.

Essential Functions

Faculty Travel Coordinator: Prepare travel documents for faculty including requests for travel, travel change documents, applications for Faculty Travel Grants and departmental travel grants, reimbursements, documents affiliated with international travel; arrange travel and lodging for departmental visitors; work with departmental accounting staff to coordinate use of funds for travel. Assist departmental chair and executive assistant with critical clerical tasks. Assist with organizing departmental receptions and other events. Organize and oversee grade reporting and act as liaison with Registrar's Office. Order and maintain supplies for department. Liaison with College of Liberal Arts personnel in maintaining and tracking departmental inventory.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Three years of experience with clerical functions. Demonstrated good organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good professional demeanor. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

  • Typing (minimum score of 50 wpm requested)
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with DEFINE, specifically travel documents (VE5, VE6, VP5). Experience with FileMaker, Microsoft Office and Mac OS. Experience working in a large academic department. Ability to carry out multiple projects with minimum supervision. Experience in providing exceptional customer service.
