The Coordinator will administer all students affairs issues in the College of Science.

Essential Functions

Chair the Colleges Grade Appeals Committee. Implement College probation and suspension rules and student status (enforce academic standards). Identify Dean's List students. Represents the College to current and prospective undergraduate students across the campus, e.g., Preview Days, Welcome Days, and special events with other College staff. Assists with New Student Orientation programs. Occasional participation in development and implementation of recruitment and retention activities. Works closely with College of Science advisors. Serves as liaison with University College and the Honors College in matters of advising and academic policies. Coordinates with the Office of Admissions. Research, assess, and evaluate scholarship opportunities for students, including distributing information, maintaining scholarship database, and coordination of service learning activities. Managing the application and assisting the administration with the review process for awarding scholarships. Assist with health professions advising when necessary. Answer questions about academic affairs in the College. Assist front reception with phones and greeting guests.

Other functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Masters degree and 1 year experience in higher education setting. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Higher education advising experience. Experience with Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board curriculum and reporting issues. MyMav experience.
