Additional Information

Purpose

This position is required to support the responsibilities of migrating and maintaining the ITS and CIO websites.

Essential Functions

Plan, develop, migrate, and deploy Drupal websites, meeting all requirements with respect to quality, schedule, accessibility, performance, and security; including developing and maintaining Drupal themes, content types, and views. Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, compliance, administration, and continuity of a comprehensive web site and directly related web sites. Provide support to ITS websites, managing UNIX publishing directories and files; and promoting best practices in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and PHP. Use formal project management practices, providing regular schedule, milestone, and implementation updates. Provide consistently excellent customer service to all customers. Gather requirements, size work efforts, perform appropriate system analysis, and document project plans and tasks. Enhance technical skills with respect to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web development standards and trends, and accessibility standards.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Two years of developing Web-based applications, including experience developing sites in or providing support for customers using Drupal, in an enterprise environment. Two years of experience with the UNIX operating system in a Web publishing environment. Experience developing Web applications in PHP. Expertise in AJAX application development, jQuery, JavaScript. Expertise in HTML, especially in converting design work into HTML. Demonstration of strong customer-facing and listening skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively, in a team oriented environment. Demonstration of consistently meeting deadlines and following through with projects and assignments to completion. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated understanding of the entire scope of complex, database-driven Web applications. Three or more years of professional webmaster or Web maintenance experience. Understanding of Information Architecture and UX design. Two or more years of experience developing Web applications in PHP. Five or more years of experience with the UNIX operating system in a Web publishing environment. Experience with responsive web design practices. Experience with a relational database management system (Oracle, MySQL or similar). Experience with Accessibility standards. Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively, in a team oriented environment. Demonstrated create problem solving skills.
