To provide technical skills in the preparation and use of computer programs using discretion and independent judgment in the application of programming techniques in the development and modification of programs for computers.

Essential Functions

Create and maintain tools to be used by a wide variety of users to meet office needs. Build Java/Spring-based projects integrating internal systems and internet site with other external subsystems using established standards and protocols (XML, SOAP, etc.). Develop robust systems that are both efficient for power users and intuitive for novices. Follow industrial coding standards and best practices including the writing of unit and regression tests. Document all code and processes; iteratively refine incomplete specifications. Complete coding projects in a timely and professional manner. Follow industrial coding standards and best practices including the writing of unit and regression tests, formal data and process modeling and mathematical techniques. Prepare diagrams of complex and sophisticated logic. Address production issues in timely manner. Interact with business users to help fix any issues. Create and maintain documentation of in-house applications and operations encompassing complete business information infrastructure, asserting the integrity and functionality of these systems for users. Assert compliance to minimum standards and regulation of these systems to authorities outside of OTC, providing for the growth of the OTC systems infrastructure in line with the goals and intentions of OTC and UT, remaining mindful of avoiding and preventing fraud, waste and abuse. Provide appropriate infrastructure to meet OTC business needs through enhancements and maintenance to OTC proprietary code.

Required qualifications

Core Java expertise. Spring (MVC, Web Flow, Data Access, AOP, Dependency Injection) exposure. Linux systems administration expertise. SQL expertise. JavaScript library expertise. HTML. XML. Continuous Integration exposure. SVN expertise. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Web Services expertise. Business Intelligence experience. CRM experience. jQuery. eclipse. SQL Server. RedHat. Inteum exposure. Data mining experience.
