- The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the director of the Robert S. Strauss Center for International Security and Law and handle the daily operations and business affairs of the Center.
- Prepare and/or review purchasing, travel, and other DEFINE documents. Maintain calendar for the Center and assist with event logistics and management, including answering phone calls and serving as the point-of-contact for all Center guests. Arrange travel. Assist with preparation of business and financial reports. Assist with analysis of accounts. Maintain database and manage office filing and official records retention system. Serve as liaison with administrative offices and schools/colleges. Draft, review and edit correspondence.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
- Bachelor's degree and one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level, or high school graduation or GED and five years of clerical experience, including one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level. Must be able to multi-task, organize priorities, and work with deadlines. Experience drafting, reviewing, and editing correspondence. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, FileMaker Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite. Demonstrated attention to detail, customer service perspective, ability to handle concurrent projects, and working independently with minimal supervision. Professional demeanor. Excellent organization, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. Discretion/confidentiality in business dealings. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work as a team member without day-to-day supervision. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
