Support the Advanced Technology Laboratory by providing embedded system design support to new and existing ATL/SDD sonar systems.
Support legacy embedded systems by testing and debugging of system components as well as redesign and system improvements based on those tests. Hardware and software design for new sonar systems. Functional verification of all new and modified designs. Generation, revision and management of all procedures, drawings and design files.
Other related functions as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Demonstrated knowledge/proficiency w/ embedded systems. Knowledge of hardware, software, and firmware designing for embedded systems containing microcontrollers/ FPGA's. Demonstrated ability implementing/testing/verifying electronic designs to the component level. Dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time. The position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving skills and excellent judgment. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with diverse groups of clients. Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Able to travel to support system integration andd testing of off-site installations. Regular and punctual attendance. US Citizen. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in embedded systems. Experience in a team-oriented design and development of electronic systems containing embedded designs. Proficiency with C++ programming, Linux OS, and Python or shell scripting. Demonstrated ability using CAD tools for schematic capture and experience executing a circuit design from conception to circuit board assembly and test. Cumulative GPA of 3.0.
