Coordinates business development activities required to support UTARIs revenue growth objectives. Reports to the Business Development Officer, but works closely with the Executive Director, as well as the Director of Research, to find and develop sponsored research opportunities.
Develops UTARI's business development strategy for seeking and assessing the best opportunities for research in the areas of robotics, advanced manufacturing, biomedical technology, and energy-water-environment. Advises the Business Development Officer on a business growth plan required to attain annual research expenditure stated goals. Has a strong role in the development of business contracts and identifies potential partners in the four focus research areas to develop research opportunities Prepares read-ahead material for the Executive Director and Business Development Officer prior to meetings with business and industry leadership using research/fundraising databases and records the results of those meetings into the same. Participates in meetings and conferences attended by the Executive Director and Business Development Officer to develop partnerships and sponsored research opportunities, and prepares action plans that result in sponsored research.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Bachelors Degree; strong writing, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Technical writing background and experience preferred. Knowledge of grant process and writing a plus. Knowledge or prior use of Raiser?s Edge and Wealth Engine databases a plus.
