Texas Advanced Computing Center is looking for a webmaster to provide oversight of a comprehensive web site for an academic research unit and directly related web sites. The position will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, compliance, and continuity of our web sites and related services.

Essential Functions

The position will administer and maintains a comprehensive web site and continuity among directly related web sites for a leading center of computational excellence in the United States. The position will coordinate the implementation and administration of on-line programs and services while ensuring compliance with applicable policies on web site usage, security and standards. The webmaster will recommend electronic reference resources and database related services. They will adapt conventional information resources to internet purposes, using web applicable language skills. They will be responsible for troubleshooting and providing problem resolution to users on the use of web applications and in the use of computer technologies. They will be responsible for updates and web maintenance for hardware and software. The position will keep current with HTML, web development trends and ADA standards.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Graphic Art, or related field. Two years of professional webmaster or web maintenance experience. One year of systems design, analysis and programming or developing web based applications. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in the above fields. Three or more years of professional webmaster or web maintenance experience. Two or more years of systems design, analysis and programming or developing web based applications. Prefer candidates with experience in useful languages/skill sets such as: PHP, JavaScript, and the ability to build/adapt applications that work with our content management system (Liferay).
