This position will require frequent evening, weekend and holiday work hours. Work days will often be 12 or more hours in length. Work conditions are outdoors and will require ability to work in all weather conditions.

Purpose

The Assistant Events Manager at Maverick Stadium is the primary point of contact for clients and the public during the running of events. This employee is responsible for their comfort and safety and has direct impact on the success of our events.

Essential Functions

Hiring, training, set-up and supervision of all scheduled events and will be responsible in making sure that all events are sufficiently staffed and ready to go in a timely manner. Coordination of facility maintenance is also required. Assist with event paperwork, client correspondence, payroll submission, and other business operations as needed.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

High School Degree or GED. 2 years of experience in a multipurpose public assembly facility or in automated systems operations, retail sales supervision, event operations, project operations, or other relevant field OR Bachelor's degree. Supervisory experience with part-time workers including hiring, training and scheduling. Experience in managing multiple priorities. Effective oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with event manager at a football/track facility. Extensive knowledge of Track and Field set-ups and markings. Working knowledge of Lynx Track and Field timing system. Training in crowd control and safety. General knowledge of NCAA track and field rules. Fork lift operator certification. CPR and AED certification. 2 or 4 year degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in sports management, athletic administration and or sports and health sciences.
