To perform human resources support for the Blanton Museum of Art.

Essential Functions

Prepares semi-monthly University payroll for the department. Audits daily collection, processing and reporting of automated and manual time sheet transactions. Advises staff members on human resources-related issues. Ensures the Blanton Museum is in compliance with all institutional rules and regulations pertinent to human resources functions, including those of student employment. Coordinates human resources activities for recruitment and hiring of new personnel including processing appropriate selection documentation. Sets up and maintains all employee personnel files. Updates various departmental documents including organizational chart and staff phone directory and ensures documents are distributed as directed by management. Acts as departmental liaison for the Blanton for routine human resource matters. Coordinates resolution of disciplinary actions.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Four years of experience in a human resources function. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field. More than four years of experience in a human resources function. Use of DEFINE and HRMS systems. Previous human resource experience at the University of Texas. Use of Macintosh platform.
