Hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm. However, depending on the assignment, shift may change to 8am-5pm. Overtime may be required with little or no advance notice. Hiring decision contingent upon applicant clearing background check, and successfully passing the strength and agility test (WorkSTEPS). Applicant may be required to lift up to 125 percent over the maximum weight requirement per NIOSH
Assist in the supervision of custodial staff performing building cleaning. Perform cleaning work using standardized OS1 cleaning procedures.
Work in a large assigned area with frequent group work and/or special assignments. Work in all university buildings. Perform general cleaning according to schedule and for trouble calls, remedial services, and client requests. Use standardized OS1 Team Cleaning procedures. Lead employees in accomplishing work in support of mission and goals of the department, inspect completed work to ensure correct and timely completion and assist Building Attendant Leader with administrative tasks. Secure buildings and rooms on schedule and/or after cleaning. Follow correct unlocking, locking, and alarm procedures. Follow key control/access card procedures and guidelines. Carry UT ID at all times during working hours. Drive light duty pickups and vans to move equipment and personnel to accomplish assigned work. Set up table linens and other items for special events. Provide on-duty cleaning and event support. Launder linens. Clean after emergencies. Wash, wax, clean vehicles.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Periodically assist in supervising the accomplishment of special custodial projects or preparing buildings for special university events. Other related functions as assigned. Maintain acceptable driver rating.
High school graduation or GED. One year experience in custodial, hospitality, warehouse, production or facilities maintenance. Some supervisory experience. Experience following basic work instructions. Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills. Communicate via two way radio. Ability to read work materials, and write and follow written work instructions. Desire to work on a team. Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
High school graduation or GED. More than two years experience in custodial, hospitality, warehouse, production or facilities maintenance. One year experience in supervising, training, inspecting and scheduling custodial work. Positive customer service skill. OS1 standardized cleaning procedures experience. Successful completion of the OS1 Comprehensive Certification program. Successuful completion from the Facilities Services and Project Management and Construction Services Leader Development Program.
