Additional Information

Purpose

Administers and coordinates all aspects of the graduate program. Collaborates with Graduate Advisor and Department Chair to establish departmental policies and determine best practices. Responsible for course scheduling and other administrative duties for undergraduate and graduate programs.

Essential Functions

Respond to prospective student requests for information and contribute to recruitment efforts. Plan professional development workshops, lectures, conferences, and other departmental events as needed. Assist faculty with Grade Reporting, Course Instructor Surveys and Final Exam Reporting, Textbooks and Desk Copy Orders. Interprets University and departmental policies for Graduate Students and tracks progress toward degree. Assist Graduate Advisor with advising of graduate students. Produce departmental reports for Deans and maintain records in order to accurately and efficiently respond to assessment requests. Track complex budget with close attention to detail. Direct annual selection process for AI/TA and create appointments. Manage admissions process and carry out faculty decisions within university guidelines for admission and fellowship nominations. Coordinate Fellowship Competitions and submit information accurately to the Graduate School and College of Liberal Arts. Course Scheduling including FASET, Catalog Changes, Course Inventory.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Detail-oriented, proactive, organized, flexible, and professional demeanor. Five years of experience working with college students in an administrative or advising capacity. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize projects. Capable of working independently without substantial guidance. Comfortable with managing sensitive information. Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and in speech. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of DEFINE and Filemaker Pro. Knowledge of NRRECS, NRTTVR, EASI. Previous experience as a Graduate Coordinator.
