Position located in ROUND TOP, TX (90 miles east of Austin). Must meet eligibility requirements to drive a UT vehicle and maintain eligibility. Must meet UTPD's training requirements. To monitor and provide security for 14 University of Texas buildings and 220 acres of property at the Winedale Campus in Round Top, Texas. Schedule fluctuates to include nights, weekends, special events and holidays.
Drive a UT Vehicle and walk to patrol and monitor the interior and exterior of buildings on the Winedale Campus for security and safety of the buildings and property therein. Work closely with Winedale Manager and Security staff to ensure that the campus has proper security coverage. Report all emergencies or irregularities as prescribed by operations manual and takes appropriate action to remedy problems noted and/or reported. Submit a UTPD Incident Report as needed. Work with other security staff to provide security for special programs and events hosted at Winedale. Provide directions and general information regarding buildings and facilities on the Winedale Campus to visitors. Assist with set up and break down of special events. Turn irrigation on and off as prescribed by overnight watering schedule. Visually monitor security fire panels and lighting and report burnt out lamps or replace if necessary. Write a watch report for each shift. Enter vehicle, mileage and maintenance log on the UT Define system on a weekly basis, if needed. Participate in required UTPD reporting and training. Act as contact for UTPD site visits. Travel to UTPD headquarters for training, uniforms or other requirements.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Other related functions as assigned. Other duties may include assistance with minor maintenance functions.
High school graduation or GED. Experience as a guard or police officer. Must be able to stand or walk several hours each day and work in all weather conditions. Must successfully pass a thorough background investigation. Must meet eligibility requirements to drive a UT vehicle and maintain eligibility. Must meet University of Texas Police Department training requirements. Must be able to effectively communicate with a diverse population. Must demonstrate professional demeanor. Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
