Purpose

Design, build, and maintain College of Education website as the primary communication tool for the college; support marketing campaigns for the college.

Essential Functions

Design, maintain, and update main website using Drupal CMS, HTMLS, CSS2/3 or JavaScript. Develop micro sites and special online features that support marketing campaigns using Drupal, HTMLS, CSS2/3 JavaScript. Run regular analytics reports and utilize search engine optimization techniques. Produce creative briefs, site maps, process flows, design comps, wireframes and prototypes, e-mail designs, banners, social media, micro sites, web pages, videos, and other media. Participate in client meetings (by phone and in person), meet internal and client deadlines, produce thorough, articulate internal and client-facing communication, work with partners and vendors. Maintain full understanding of entire project scope, keep apprised of new front-end development methods and technologies. Serve as active member of communication team.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Graphics Art, or related field. Three years doing front-end development, including Visual and UI design. Familiarity with digital video standards, responsive web design, effective Information Architecture and User Experience Design. Google webmaster tools. Experience with debugging and troubleshooting, HTML5, CSS2/3 JavaScript, Version control using Git, working with clients directly (in person meetings, conference calls, email, standards-compliant code/cross-browser compatible code, device and browser testing. Demonstrated firm understanding of Progressive Enhancement and Graceful Degradation, working knowledge of basic search engine optimization techniques, analytics and tracking the effectiveness of websites and content through customized reporting and testing, knowledge of accessibility (Section 508, WCAG) and usability best practices and techniques. Ability to work with remote teams and communicate effectively. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

At least two years in a higher education setting.
