General Notes

This is a 9 month position (work mid-August till mid-May, off mid-May till mid-August). Work hours include some Saturday and evening calls required. Clinic hours are 8:30am-5pm. Urgent Care hours are 8am-5:30pm on weekdays. Saturday/holiday clinic hours are 11am-3pm. Work schedule to be discussed during interview.

Provide primary medical services to the University of Texas at Austin's student population.

Essential Functions

Provide primary medical services to the University of Texas at Austin's student population as a University Health Services (UHS) staff physician. Participate in the development of medical care standards, policies, and procedures. Participate in the overall goals of the organization.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Doctoral degree in Medicine (M.D. or D.O.). Experience in direct outpatient care. Completion of accredited Residency Program in the United States. Board Certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine. Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas. Computer experience. Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of experience with college age patients, preferably in a college health clinic. Two or more years experience working with minor emergency type patients. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Professional demeanor. Experience using electronic medical records.

May work around standard office conditions May work around biohazards Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity Continuous use of standard medical equipment, personal computer, and standard office equipment. Exposure to fumes, chemicals, sprays, and commercial items found in standard office conditions, medical clinics, and in repairs and maintenance.
