Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday 9am-6pm. Schedule will vary based on needs of KUTX/KUT. Position will require evening, weekend, and holiday work. Work hours may vary and will be set based on the schedule of live events.
Lead producer for weekly music show, The Austin Music Experience, highlighting station recorded content and the Austin music scene. Produces KUTX feature Song of the Day. Manages all social media for these two programs. Assists in all KUTX events and promotions and additional production projects as assigned.
Lead producer for The Austin Music Experience. Leads and collaborates with other staff to present engaging and locally minded show - The Austin Music Experience (TAME) - revolving around live KUTX/Cactus Cafe performances and Austin music scene. Works with KUTX PD and Associate GM to produce show consistent with public radio principles that has syndication potential. Leads and oversees production of weekday Song of the Day feature, choosing music appropriate for KUTX mission. Works with record companies and artists to maximize quality of feature. Works on special production projects as assigned by KUTX PD as well as being responsible for two to three music specials a year for KUTX. Responsible for outreach to community through social media and digital platforms to raise awareness of The Austin Music Experience and Song of the Day. Handles The Austin Music Experience and Song of the Day presence in social media world (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc). Responsible for consistent, timely content in this area. Takes content from TAME and repurposes for other platforms such as web, podcasts, and downloads where applicable. Serves as spokesperson for TAME. Develops process for ongoing feedback and engagement with audience and community partners. Assists in all KUTX events and promotions. Performs as substitute on-air host for KUTX. Handles other assigned production duties. As assigned, assists in all KUTX events and promotions, including booking, live production, setup/tear down, etc. Applies techniques and adapts presentation as on-air host as directed by PD. Deliberately builds and maintains cross-functional collaborations with other KUT departments/staff and vendor/partners in support of achieving KUT's public service commitment. Maintains productive relationships at work by frequently communication with partners, providing status updates, and addressing issues. Gathers other people's input for significant decisions and projects. Is viewed by peers and supervisors as an available and helpful resource and partner.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Bachelor's degree. A combination of five years of experience in radio production or television production. Two years public radio music experience. Intimate knowledge of Austin and Texas Music scenes. Experience working with websites and social media in a promotional manner. One year of experience producing music related pieces/programs for radio. One year experience working with record companies and/or artist management. Two years experience with production software tools Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Final Cut X. Experience with event production. Experience managing volunteers. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
