To serve as an IT Coordinator, providing technical, business, and organizational skills for the University Data Center serving the university community. To coordinate with different ITS groups, and the campus community to continuously improve the quality of service.
Delivers service by coordinating activities and building relationships with related IT staff within ITS and across the campus community. Provide technical expertise on more complex problems or issues, ensure quality of service and make recommendations for increased efficiency across the data centers. Enterprise Incident tracking/change management tool administration, integration and champion, providing direct customer support. Ensure compliance for customer satisfaction and technical processes. Provide reports and feedback to team leads and other functional units. Business support functions - invoicing/contracts, scheduling, develop and manage employee on-boarding, process, computer asset management, website content updates. Identify trends and recommend solutions; ensure compliance with IT security policies and practices; support for University Risk Assessment.

Skill at coordinating and directing activities of a group, which may include assigning and leading work. Ability to coordinate and communicate with other functions and units. Overseeing one or more information technology groups or functions. Strong skill in documentation and report writing. Interpersonal relations skills, especially in being a good listener, skills in written and oral communications; administrative skills. Good telephone and electronic mail communication skills. Good organization skills with the ability to exercise discretion and ingenuity to determine the proper course of action while following established standards. Four or more years of experience in Information Technology in data centers. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Computer Science, Business or Technical Degree. Solid technical understanding of computers, networking, enterprise incident tracking tools and cabling/electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations. Project management experience. Ability to manage by influence. Four or more years of experience involved in Information Technology in higher education. A broad general education and dedication to lifelong learning. Ability and willingness to think outside the box to find creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs with a minimal impact on reliability. Working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Windows, UNIX and/or Mainframe platforms. Experience with scripting/programming languages. Certification in A+.
