Responsible for the administration and supervision of all ITS Networking and Telecommunications warehouse activities including: purchase, receipt, inventory, storage and distribution of equipment, materials and/or supplies. Employee supervision. Planning supplies needed for projects, and coordinate with NT manager
Provide excellent customer service to all areas dependent on the warehouse inventory with quick response to customer requests. Manage employees and the quality of workflow in and out of the warehouse while promoting proper internal controls. Efficiently order, receive, return, store and stock supplies and equipment based on projections they develop; following university and ITS procurement, payment and inventory procedures. Accept financial responsibility for inventory levels and annual inventory and monitors daily and weekly reports on warehouse stock levels. Check inventory levels constantly to reduce the total inventory costs. Anticipate the needs of stock for peak periods of activity and order as needed. Assist in purchasing, Central Receiving and vendor questions about over shipments or discrepancies on ordered or shipped items. Participate in and ensures accurate data entry procedures and protocols, provide correct shelf product labeling and data base locations. Survey customer needs for their job proficiency and add new stock as needed or remove legacy stock. Familiar with hand truck operation. Occasionally required to drive a University vehicle.
Other related functions as assigned.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
High school graduation or GED. Five years of experience in warehouse management. Two years experience in general stores or similar experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity. Working knowledge of warehouse and delivery equipment. Experience purchasing and negotiating with vendors. Technical experience working with Networking, Telecom, Fiber and Electrical equipment and parts. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Telecommunications field work. Experience with university procurement processes. Large campus (preferably higher education) work experience. Two years familiarity with Networking and Telecommunication supplies and equipment either having worked in the field as a technician or store front with knowledge of identification and operation of network related switches, fiber support equipment, telecom telephones and equipment, electrical power support items and tools needed for stock.
