Required to provide CDL within 30 days of employment. NO EXCEPTIONS. Required to work Thanksgiving Day football game and at least one other football game. Must be willing to work holiday, weekend, overtime, or comp time as necessary. Must provide documentation of any certifications if selected for interview. Position may float between main campus and Pickle Research Center (PRC).
To provide safe, cost effective mechanical repair services and support, to a full-service automotive shop and fueling station. To inspect, diagnose, and perform necessary repairs to UT vehicles, carts, and assorted equipment.
Uses standard tools of the trade, diagrams, computers, scanners, and manuals in the performance of vehicle, cart and equipment repair. Inspects and prepares necessary documentation for maintaining service station records, repair logs, invoices, work orders, mileage reports and safety checklists. Participates in the maintenance and operation of a vehicle shop and fuel station. Performs work in accordance with established safety procedures. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Understands and follows oral and written instructions or specifications. Receives work requests for scheduled and unscheduled repairs. Inspects and diagnosis perceived problems and safety components, and recommends repairs. Requisitions necessary parts and includes them on the work invoice. Provides cost effective repair services in accordance with ASE industry standards. Updates work order status in real-time including technician comments. Reviews completed repairs and notifies customers. Provides roadside assistance for disabled or stranded vehicles and carts. Performs repair services to equipment at remote locations. Participates in daily upkeep for fleet pool including vehicle cleaning, washing and fueling services. Performs regular inspection of fuel dispensers, hoses and pumps at fuel stations. Assists vendors at fuel drops. Adheres to applicable State and Federal regulations in regards to materials handling and disposal. Supports surplus staff on auction sales dates.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

High school graduation or GED. Six years' experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of vehicles in an automotive shop environment. At least one year experience with POS software in the automotive repair industry. Must have professional demeanor, and show attention to detail. Licenses: must have or obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 30 days of employment. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident. Must be willing and able to lift and carry 75 lbs, and be able to be on their feet for long periods of time. Must be dependable, punctual, flexible, and exhibit exceptional attendance. Minimum eight years of experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of vehicles. ASE certification. Supervisory experience in an automotive shop environment. Experience in a University automotive shop environment. Comfortable using computers. Familiarity with FASTER fleet management (technician workstation) software.
