Additional Information

Purpose

To to provide critically needed project management support for the upcoming Identity and Access Management (IAM) Road map projects, the IT Service Provisioning technology replacement project, and the IAM work associated with the ERP Replacement project.

Essential Functions

Manages, develops, directs, and evaluates assigned projects using accepted project management methodologies, and communication and consultation with clients, project team members, and other stakeholders. Develops project plans including project life cycle, budgets, resource requirements, change management processes, risk management, key milestones, communication mechanisms, test plans, and deliverables. Lead application, functional, infrastructure, or technology project teams, with the responsibility for projects that require collaboration of multiple staff during project life cycle. Has accountability for setting expectations, performance management, and evaluations for staff assigned to projects. Uses skills to work on projects where analysis of situation or data requires a review of a variety of factors, with a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures; resolves complex issues. Leads the development and implementation of standard operating procedures.

Required qualifications

Demonstration of the competencies: Motivating others, Planning work for others, Managing conflict, Managing and measuring work, Managing diversity and Complying with policies and procedures at The University of Texas at Austin, typically acquired by a Bachelor's degree, five years of project management experience in relevant area of assignment and the university's Transition to Management Certificate (or equivalent). Demonstrated ability to estimate and deliver to established project milestones. Demonstrated strong customer communication and listening skills. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently under pressure of rigid deadlines and time limitations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent internal consulting and management skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of experience in software development. Experience with project management in a large enterprise environment. Demonstrated ability to drive effective results in a diverse and challenging environment. Demonstrated ability to motivate others and manage conflict. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
