Responsible for assisting the installation, repair, and routine or emergency maintenance of building access control and security devices. Ensure a functional interface with campus police, building owners, and campus management. Perform related duties as assigned. On call is required.
Install, test, and maintain the functionality of all field devices related to the campus security system. This includes data cabling, wiring, control panels, electronic door locks, readers, door position switches, and other hardware related to the campus security system. Provide a high level of customer service to all campus security stakeholders. Coordinate and communicate with customers and team to provide appropriate level of service. Respond to work orders and trouble ticket within service level agreement terms. Respond to emergency maintenance, participate in the on-call rotation to provide 24/7 field support for the campus security. Ensure that supervisor is kept up to date and informed. Give timely progress reports to supervisor on all projects and task lists. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Keep service vehicles organized and clean, report any problems or issues.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Other related functions as assigned.
A High school graduation or GED. Five years of related experience including intrusion, card access control, video and security device administration. Ability to follow detailed work instructions. Knowledge of basic electronics and operation of tools and equipment related to the installation and repair of electronic security systems. Must pass extensive federal background check. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Required qualifications with more than five years of experience. Security project lead experience and certifications in access control, video, or other security related systems. Ability to read blueprints and floor plans, ability to use computer software for troubleshooting and documentation.
