Develop applications, integrate technology, and administer systems to support the mission of a 21st century academic library for the University of Texas.
Develop, enhance, and support libraries' software and IT services for patrons and staff. Collaborate with UT Libraries IT staff to integrate new technology with libraries' collections and information systems to continually improve use and usability for patrons. Provide technical support, oversight, and administration for desktop and server operations, deployment, maintenance, and enhancement.
Other related functions as assigned.
Possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of applications, programming or analysis in appropriate languages. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. One year of experience in systems analysis, design and programming. Demonstrated ability to create and modify programs written in C++ using the Windows API or another windowing system. At least one year of professional experience working with SQL databases. At least one year of professional experience writing programs and scripts for Windows. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows client and server system administration and programming. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Bachelor's degree. 3 or more years of related experience for the required qualifications listed. Advanced knowledge of Windows OS deployment and best practices. Ability to deploy, update, maintain, and administer Windows server and desktop systems in a highly managed active directory/group policy environment. Demonstrated ability to maintain operational IT service levels and respond to issues in a timely manner. Ability to uphold organizational values and overcome obstacles to achieve challenging goals. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Sys Ctr and creating Windows images for remote deployment. Experience: with Mobile application software development; using Windows SDK; in .Net programming with C sharp or Visual Basic; supporting Macintosh OS computers and iOS devices including mobile device management; managing enterprise computer systems; defining IT business requirements and objectives and implementing optimized systems to meet all requirements and objectives; hosting enterprise-class applications with responsibility for user performance, availability and satisfaction; developing applications for UT staff, students or faculty; and managing Windows Server and Hyper-V clusters.
