To supervise, maintain and improve the Get A Scan and Remote Delivery services for UT patrons.
Plan and manage "Get A Scan" and Remote Delivery workflows including establishing objectives, policy and standards. Provide specialized, in-depth call number and internet searching for citations, databases entries, articles, and loans. Communicate with UT faculty, students and regarding their requests Purchase articles directly from publishers on the behalf of patrons using the ILS Procard. Updating, scanning, and delivery of articles using Odyssey, Odyssey Helper. Recruit, hire, supervise and train student and classified staff. Train and assist PCL and branch library staff on ILS and "Get A Scan" services. Assist Lending and Borrowing as time permits.
Other related functions as assigned.
High school or GED. Four years of library experience. Successful supervisory experience. Proven experience providing extensive customer service by email and phone. Familiarity and practical experience with scanning best practices. Extensive knowledge of the UT Libraries databases, online catalogs and WorldCat. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Bachelor's degree. More than four years of library experience. Two years of experience working in an interlibrary loan/document delivery environment. Two years of recent intermediate level ILLiad interlibrary loan management software experience. Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro. Experience working with electronic document files. Experience troubleshooting technical issues with scanning equipment. Experience with UPS and/or FedEx online shipping software. Familiarity with UT Austin mail procedures.
