The interaction designer's job is to support subject matter experts and other designer roles on multiple projects to redefine how a coordinated system delivers health to a community.

Essential Functions

Collaborate with regional health institutions, entrepreneurial organizations and individuals, and faculty and students at the Dell Medical School, the College of Fine Arts, and across the University to develop both strategy and tangible offerings for a new model of health. Support DIH leadership by leading user Interaction / user experience efforts on projects where digital or physical interactions are critical components of the user journey. Participate in design research, develop design strategy, lead ideation, produce UI concepts and wireframes, build quick experiential prototypes, perform testing activities, and work closely with execution partners in bringing those concepts to reality. May lead some or all of the process, and own the communication of the process and the output. Participate in projects that will include the design of digital interactions, physical devices and environments, and processes for service delivery, for everything from specialty medical procedures to individual health interactions in the community to broad population health campaigns.

Required qualifications

Bachelors Degree in interaction design or a closely associated degree. Eight years of experience in a professional interaction design role. Demonstrated experience contributing to design projects from problem identification, through research, synthesis, ideation, prototyping, and implementation. Leadership of other design resources. Previous experience designing in health environments. Demonstrated ability to exercise resourcefulness and good judgment in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple streams of work. Detail-oriented. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Interaction design or a closely associated degree and ten years of experience in a design agency role. Experience in healthcare delivery, public health, or medical field. Leadership of multidisciplinary teams. Coordination of multiple stakeholders in pursuit of aligned goals. Large scale implementation experience.
