This is a full-time, temporary position ending 09/30/17 with the possibility of continued employment depending on business need and funding availability. Finalist will be asked to take a STATA test.

Additional Information


To provide rigorous data analysis and research for the Child and Family Research Partnership's many current and incoming projects. Synthesize research under the direction of Associate Professor/CFRP Director at the LBJ School of Public Affairs.

Essential Functions

Assist with database architecture, cleaning up data, and rigorous data analysis. Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports. Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Filter and "clean" data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems. Work closely with management. Communicate and interact with sponsor/client and stakeholders as needed. Provide guidance for student research assistants, if applicable. Serve as an active team member in planning, development, and revision of scopes of work. Provide additional research and data analysis support as needed.

Required qualifications

Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Strict attention to detail, independent, and proactive. Ability to work in a team environment working in concert with the research team and communications team. Excellent time management skills to meet stringent deadlines. Excellent methodological and analytical skills. Direct experience with STATA. Master's degree with major coursework in the field of assignment, plus two years of related experience, or a bachelor's degree with four years of experience working toward a graduate degree in the field of assignment. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree with major coursework in the field of assignment, plus three to five years of related experience, and additional graduate study toward Ph.D. in the field of assignment.
