The Moczygemba Research Group in the Division of Health Outcomes and Pharmacy Practice at The University of Texas at Austin, College of Pharmacy invites applicants for this temporary, training position. The position is initially for one year, renewable for additional one-year periods, based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress towards research goals.

Purpose

The Fellow will primarily work with Dr Moczygemba, whose research program focuses on working with communities and health-systems to mitigate health disparities by developing patient-centered interventions to optimize health outcomes. Essential Functions

Highly involved in research design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation using data from completed and ongoing studies. This includes data from a CMS Innovation Center funded project that implemented a pharmacist-physician intervention to improve health outcomes for individuals living in a rural area with multiple chronic conditions and collecting primary data for a mixed-methods project that involves implementing and testing a mobile health intervention. Travel to work with communities, clinics and health-systems. Assist with project management. Training opportunities such as courses and seminars related to research methods, as needed, and grant writing and preparation will be available. Salary and benefits are excellent. In addition, fellows will have access to funds to conduct research and attend external trainings, and conferences.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Fellow must have received a recent doctoral degree in health services research, public health, clinical pharmacy or a related field within the past three years. Applicants may qualify if in a current postdoc position for less than 3 years. The successful candidate should have excellent database management skills, including reasonable quantitative data analysis skills, be able to work independently and have excellent communication and writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

SAS proficiency, experience with qualitative methods, such as interviews and focus groups, and experience working with diverse populations are preferred, but not required.
