Additional Information

Purpose

The Principal will work directly with staff, faculty, and students to set goals and monitor success and with the Texas Education Agency TEA, to ensure regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions

Incumbent will be responsible for campus planning, staff development, team leader meetings, school wide events, and Alignment of Instructional Practice and Curriculum. Along with the Executive Director this position also shares responsibility for the safety, success, operations of student, staff and facilities and accountability for Texas Education Agency TEA regulations.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Masters degree in Education. Valid Texas Educator Certification with Mid-Management Administrator or Principal endorsement. Minimum of three years of experience as a classroom teacher. Must be eligible to work for a Teacher Retirement System institution. Experience with special education laws and procedures. Experience with and knowledge of educational technology, internet and information retrieval. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than three years of experience as a classroom teacher. Experience as a Assistant Principal or in a supervisory position for a public school district. Certified appraiser in the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS). Experience in goal setting, curriculum, school organization.
