General Notes

UT Health Austin, a new care team-based practice, will begin treating patients in downtown Austin's state of the art Health Transformation Building this fall. UT Health Austin will initially focus on Complex Women's Health issues, comprehensive upper and lower extremity joint pain, and our workers' compensation program, WorkLife Health Solutions. Other specialties will follow in the near future.

Purpose

This position is responsible for creating a positive patient experience through patient assistance in the waiting/lobby area and is responsible for assisting with the overall patient flow through the clinics.

Essential Functions

Provides an exceptional arrival experience to include welcoming, greeting and orienting patients and visitors. Extends a warm and caring approach to all clinic patients with a respect for the diversity of all patients. Assists with patient registration upon arrival and assist with the checkout process. Facilitates patient flow and communicates delays with patients and clinical staff. Helps patients navigate throughout the clinic facilities by giving clear instructions, directions and resources available to them. Assists patients with mobility issues and collaborate with patient transportation. Works to exceed patient and caregivers' expectations. Supports staff and patient safety throughout clinics. Assists in maintaining clinic cleanliness of patient waiting areas/lobbies throughout the day.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Demonstrates superior customer service at all times and a genuine desire to serve. Must be friendly, courteous, service-oriented, and enjoy working with a variety of people. Must possess the ability to effectively manage multiple, competing priorities while remaining composed and professional. Proven ability to provide a high level of customer service and possess strong communication skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Must be a team player with a strong work ethic. Ability to work part-time (10-15 hours per week) between the hours of 7am and 7pm, Monday through Friday. Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree in health related field of study. Experience in a medical office or medical clinic setting.
