General Notes

This is a temporary 5 month position (work mid-August until mid-December). If funding is available and there is a business need, services may be continued until mid-August 2018. Urgent Care hours are 8am-5:30pm on weekdays. Work schedule to be discussed during interview.

Purpose

Provide urgent care medical services to the student population at the University of Texas at Austin.

Essential Functions

Provide primary medical care to the student population at the University of Texas at Austin as a University Health Services (UHS) PRN physician. Participate in the development of medical care standards, policies, and procedures. Participate in the overall goals of the organization.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Doctoral degree in Medicine (M.D. or D.O.). Completion of ACGME Residency Program in the United States. Current Board Certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine. Unrestricted licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas, without any pending or current disciplinary action. Two to five years of experience in providing urgent care medical services to patients in an ambulatory setting, including proficiency in use of electronic medical records. Experience working with college-age populations. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Excellent professional demeanor. Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the above required qualifications, more than five years of experience in providing urgent care medical services to patients in an ambulatory setting. Experience working in a college health clinic. Experience using Point N Click software in electronic medical records. Familiarity in working in an integrated behavioral health clinic setting.
