Additional Information

Purpose

Provide Technical support to the Sonar Systems Division of the Advanced Technology Laboratory by initiating and maintaining systematic and efficient documentation of all engineering parts and assemblies, maintaining a physical storage inventory of such, and the procurement of such items per engineering requests.

Essential Functions

Using technical knowledge create, organize, and maintain a database/libraries of all parts, assemblies of parts, and standardized hardware from initial purchase to final delivery. Create CAD Hardware drawings. Assist in assembly and installaton of Sonar systems. Maintain Pro-Engineer Windchill (Oracle) Database, including solving user issues as they occur. Using technical knowledge, plan, develop and maintain a centralized storage facility and tracking system for all assembly level part and final sensor deliverables, including maintenance of hardware supplies. Maintain and operate 3-D Printer, including model preparation for printing.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Operate ARL-owned vehicles, forklifts and hand tools as required. Other related functions as assigned.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED and seven years demonstrated ability in document management using Inflow, Oracle, SAP, or related database software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software. Demonstrated ability transferring hard copy documents to the appropriate digital software format. Familiarity with Pro-Engineer software to create and/or modify CAD hardware models and drawings. Applicant must be physically able to move heavy objects from one area to another, often multiple times. US Citizen: Subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position. Evidence of skills in the following areas: working with new technologies, being highly organized, planning and coordinating multiple tasks, effective time management, attention to detail, effective problem solving skills, using excellent judgment, working independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintaining a professional demeanor, working as a team member without daily supervision, effectively communicating with diverse groups of clients, and working under pressure. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree. Experience with the use and manipulation of Adobe Acrobat 3D Software. Experience with Pro-Engineer CREO software and Windchill Data Management software. Experience with 3D Printers and CURA slicing software.
