Additional Information

Purpose

Provide planning and execution of assigned testing programs and assist in the coordination of DEV Testing Center programs regarding placement, proficiency, distance education, and course-specific testing for students and clients both internal and external to UT Austin, including associated financial transactions.

Essential Functions

Coordinates testing materials and administers all exams, including occasional Saturday administrations. Maintains testing rosters for reconciliation purposes. Maintains security of test registration files, test materials, and confidentiality of test results. Responds to phone, email, and in-person inquiries from students and clients in a timely and professionally manner. Work collaboratively with the Senior Testing Specialist and provide back-up as needed. Assists in individual test administration including special needs or accommodations, correspondence, etc. Manages and executes exam schedules and inspects testing facility to ensure optimum testing conditions. Responsible for scoring exams, logging in exams to send to instructors, logging in assignments received via mail and electronically. Post course and exams grades. Works with part-time test center proctors to ensure accurate set-up and administration of all tests. Informs students, parents, teachers, and school districts about applicable testing matters. Lead technical troubleshooting of online test administrations, including computer and student-client errors. Monitor help-desk for online enrollments and testing center related questions. Receive test enrollments by phone, fax, web, and in person. Monitors online registration to verify sufficient testing opportunities and seat availability.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Provide support and backup for the Senior Testing Specialist and assist with exam proctoring as needed. Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree. One year of experience in teaching, training, testing proctor or testing in an educational environment. Experience in a position requiring accuracy in detail-oriented work. Professional Demeanor. Excellent written and oral communication skills and technologically proficient. Demonstrated ability to maintain composure during peak periods. Ability to perform work with accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work effectively individually and as a team member, without daily supervision, with confidential information, in a dynamic, multi-tasked setting. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with student testing programs, including familiarity with computer-based testing systems and exam proctoring. Experience in scoring educational tests. Experience with distance education policies and procedures handling confidential student materials. Completion of University of Texas Cashier's training. Experience with University policies.
