Additional Information

Purpose

Provides full-time test proctoring services at the DEV Testing Center. Exams proctored include placement, proficiency, distance education, and course-specific testing for students and clients both internal and external to UT Austin. This work will support the mission of the TEXAS Extended Campus.

Essential Functions

Administers exams and monitors students throughout duration of exams. Greets students professionally, checks identification to ensure only approved students are testing, and ensures all required information has been completed before test begins. Regularly proctor the test site to ensure there are no security violations and or student misconduct. Responds to unexpected occurrences with professionalism, calm demeanor, and authority. Maintains the security of testing materials before, during, and after test administrations. Performs administrative support tasks as needed, including maintaining files, recording statistics, and entering scores in a database. Troubleshoot test errors and equipment failure.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

High School Diploma. Three years clerical experience. Experience greeting visitors, and providing direct in-person customer service. Professional Demeanor. Excellent oral communication skills and strong observational skills. Ability to perform work with accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and individually. Must be punctual. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Baccalaureate Degree. Experience working in an educational environment and technologically proficient. Experience administering or proctoring exams.
