Additional Information


Manage and produce communications for the Office of Financial Aid. Develop communications plans, campaigns and strategies in collaboration with the Office of Enrollment Management's Marketing and Communications Team.

Essential Functions

Manage the development and production of Financial Aid communications and publications. Coordinate staff and contributions, conduct research, develop content, and write/edit copy. Create content for web properties and applications, correspondence and print, social media and SMS campaigns. Work with the assistant director to identify, develop, produce, maintain and execute a coordinated Financial Aid communications plan, core informational content, and ongoing awareness campaigns. Assist in the development and execution of program, content and audience assessments. Assist in system and program modernization projects. Learn, monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state and institutional financial aid regulations and policies. Participate in ongoing financial aid training. Serve as a liaison and subject matter expert for financial aid, outreach and university departments; ensure the distribution of accurate financial aid information across the university. Update and modify web content using content management systems and HTML editors. Monitor and maintain a sourcebook of published information about state, federal and institutional financial aid and scholarships. Attend weekly, monthly and ad hoc departmental meetings. Manage internal communication for the Office of Financial Aid. Serve as point of contact for press and media inquiries related to financial aid.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree. At least three years of professional experience in writing and editing. Experience developing content and strategy. Experience managing web content with the use of a CMS. Experience managing social media platforms for a business or organization. Strong interpersonal, analytical and project management skills. Ability and eagerness to independently identify and address opportunities and needs. Must be willing to divest of any stock or other ownership interest in a student loan lender before start of employment. Shares in a publicly traded mutual fund or similar investment vehicle are exempted. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than the required experience or education. Knowledge of the financial aid process. Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat. Experience in video production. Experience maintaining brand and style standards and guidelines. Knowledge of information architecture, interface design and usability. Some knowledge of HTML and/or CSS. Spanish-language fluency or proficiency.
