To manage and supervise all phases of a large scale retail food service operation; including food preparation and service, training, directing and coaching of personnel, planning menus, ordering food and merchandise, supervising food preparation.

Essential Functions

1. Ability to multi-task and assist in the organization and direction of all staff for for a large scale retail food service or convenience store operation. Assist with all merchandising, marketing, and programs for food service or convenience store operation. 2. Help to develop effective working relationships and positively influence and motivate a diverse staff. Ensure the continued professional development of employees. 3. Maintain current knowledge of all areas of responsibility. Train, coach, evaluate and direct full time, temporary, and student staff. 4. Assist in determining needs, establishing goals, ordering product, setting direction, and evaluating product movement and sales trends to maximize inventory control. 5. Serve as back-up for sous chefs, other supervisors, and managers for Food service operations when requested. Drive a UT vehicle. 6. Help to anticipate and identify issues and areas of improvement, and produce viable and logical solutions.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Two years of supervisory experience in a large scale, high volume and diversified food service operation . Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity with 50 plus employees and service management. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree or equivalent years of experience. Over 2 years experience maintaining inventory control, purchasing and supervising staff. Over 2 years of experience in food management, including back of the house , in a large food court / restaurant / C-store environment serving over 2,000 customers. Over 2 years of experience with large scale receipts, reconciling cash receipts, disbursement and recording cash payments or as a cashier handling cash transactions. Over 2 years of experience in training, coaching and evaluating a diverse staff of 25 or more employees. Demonstrated ability to be a team player, prioritize, multi task and adapt to different situations. Over 1 year of experience in food and labor control. Familiar with marketing strategies and their implementation in a college or university setting. Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Professional demeanor. ServSafe certified. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
