To provide administrative support to the Law School Admissions Office.

Essential Functions

Front desk position. Greet visitors. Answer telephone calls, e-mail, and in-person inquiries about the law school. Perform initial counseling of prospective applicants. Send mass mail-outs. Draft correspondence. Maintain tour and class visit schedules for prospective students. Oversee day-to-day activities of the student ambassadors. Other marginal and or incidental administrative functions.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

High school graduate or GED. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Experience using a personal computer and other standard office equipment. Experience using Microsoft Office. Experience with mail merges. Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and to work under pressure. Two years clerical or office experience. Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally in person, over the telephone and in writing. Experience working with confidential student records. Experience working in a higher education environment, in particular with graduate and professional students and faculty. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member. Experience with law school admissions. Experience with the University of Texas mainframe.
