This is a 20 hour per week position. Work hours may vary and additional hours may be required during peak periods. Work M-F, 8am-5pm or 8:30am-5:30pm. Schedule to be discussed at interview.

Additional Information


Provide receptionist, clerical, and front office support in several UHS clinics (Appointments, General Medicine, Sports Medicine/Urgent Care).

Essential Functions

Perform front office duties in Appointments, General Medicine, Sports Medicine/urgent Care, such as: check-in/check-out students for appointments; schedule appointments; answer a multi-line phone; manage day-to-day office duties; send correspondence via secure message to students; collect insurance information and enter in Electronic Health Record; process record release requests for immunizations. Basic cashiering responsibilities.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

High School graduation or GED. Five years of experience with clerical functions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a professional demeanor. Accuracy in grammar and punctuation. Outstanding organizational skills. Attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to learn tasks quickly with minimal training and supervision. Flexibility with shifting priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information. Regular and punctual attendance. Exhibits customer service oriented behavior and excellent public relations skills in all aspects of work. Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than the required years of experience with clerical functions. Certificate of completion of Medical Assistant program. Experience working in the front office of a healthcare/medical clinic. Experience using Electronic Health Records. Billing software, including Microsoft Word, Excel software in a Windows environment. Experience collecting insurance information. Experience as a cashier. Experience working in a student health center.
