Purpose

Responsible for managing and coordinating clinical research studies focused on smoking cessation and anxiety disorder treatment. Position will involve both administrative and clinical duties. Invaluable experience for anyone interested in pursuing graduate study in the fields of Psychology or Public Health.

Essential Functions

Recruit subjects over the phone, answer questions, coordinate study visits, and subject payments; screen participants for eligibility; provide treatment. Assist in creation and submission of IRB protocols and informed consent, and manage protocols including regulatory documents, study amendments, and continuing reviews. Carryout appropriate research protocol procedures including data collection visits, clinical study visits, and questionnaire administration using REDcap (Research Electronic data capture). Perform data management, entry, and basic analysis. Conduct literature reviews. Prepare Posters and PowerPoint for presentation. Assist with preparation of manuscripts for publication. Prepare federal grant applications and reports to funding agencies. Train and supervise interns and undergraduate research assistants. Sourcing, ordering, and maintaining supply inventory related to research duties. Complete administrative duties including management of websites as well as departmental paperwork and communication.

Required qualifications

Master's degree with major coursework in psychology or related field or Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field with two years of research experience in the field of psychology. i.e., undergraduate or post-bachelor research position. Skills, abilities and competencies required include... Exceptional writing and communication skills, Highly organized and detail oriented, Willingness and ability to learn, Strong computer literacy, Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, Strong work ethic. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred skills include experience and knowledge in qualitative and quantitative research methods, and experience using WordPress, data collection software, and SPSS and or other statistical software. Previous exposure to, or interest in, clinical psychology is a plus.

May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity Full-time access to a desk, computer, phone/phone number with which to conduct their work. Typically share an office with one other Research Associate or work at reception desk as to be available to greet research participants and patients.
